The Freight One and Novostal-M Metallurgical Holding signed a service contract
The Freight One (Freight One) and the metallurgical holding Novostal-M have signed a three-year service contract. Under the terms of the agreement, from April 1, 2021, the operator will provide the supply of rolling stock both for the transportation of finished products and for the supply of raw materials to the customer's production sites.
"The development of relations became possible as a result of almost two years of joint work, in which the Freight One proved to be a reliable partner, providing high quality of the supplied rolling stock and customer service. Our task is to maintain an uninterrupted production process with the help of a steady supply of raw materials and to guarantee the export of beams, channels, steel billets and other finished products to the consignees. The service contract will allow us to move to a new level of relations. This means constant dispatching control, joint planning and the search for the most effective logistics solutions," said Sergey Titkov, Director of the Saratov branch of the Freight One.
The main assets of the Novostal-M metallurgical holding are the Abinsk Electrometallurgical Plant (AEMZ) and the Balakovo Metallurgical Plant. The total output of the enterprises exceeds 2.9 million tons.
In the first quarter of 2021, compared to the same period last year, the Novostal-M Metallurgical Holding increased the loading of finished products into gondola cars of the Freight One by 3%, to 125 thousand tons, including domestic transportation to consignees at the landfills of the North Caucasus and Moscow railways, exports to Kazakhstan and other Central Asian republics.
