The Freight One has invested 290 million rubles in restoring the commercial properties of the boxcars
The Freight One (Freight One) repaired 15% of the fleet of boxcars as part of the renovation program that started at the beginning of last year. The restoration of their commercial properties is part of the operator's repair strategy aimed at improving the quality of rolling stock and the level of customer service.
"The freight car is our main resource. It must fully meet all the requests and requirements of our customers for the transportation of goods of any type. It is important for us that cargo owners feel comfortable working with us, so we take a comprehensive approach to the fleet management: in addition to offering individual price conditions and technological solutions, we pay increased attention to the condition of the cars supplied for cargo operations. We expect that the implementation of this large-scale program will provide our partners with technically and commercially suitable rolling stock, as well as strengthen the position of Freight One in the market. In 2020, we restored the commercial properties of about 2 thousand boxcars, this year we plan to repair about 1.4 thousand more units of this type of rolling stock under the renovation program," says Vladimir Zverev, Director for Operation and Maintenance of the Car Fleet.
In accordance with the renovation plan, the Freight One shall repair the boxcars with a body volume of 122 m3 and 138 m3. Depending on the technical condition of the cars, the work shall include replacing the floor, sealing the roof, repairing doors and hatches, and other operations. They shall be carried out during the scheduled repairs in car repair enterprises without distraction from the transportation process.
The application "Mobile reporter of the Freight One" helps to control the quality of the cars supplied for cargo operations. This service not only forms a digital database of up-to-date data on boxcars for the company, but also allows you to monitor their condition in dynamics, send cars for repair in a timely manner and record its results. Currently, more than 75% of the fleet of boxcars of the Freight One has been digitized.
